It’s been a while, but word is that Olivier Theyskens has finally snagged himself a job. According to WWD, Theyskens has been hired by Theory to create a capsule collection (read: try out) for the Bloomies-friendly label, timed for the Spring / Summer 2011 season.
Now, maybe it’s the recent installment of Erin Featherston at Juicy Couture talking here, but Theory seems quite a buttoned-up change for the well-regarded designer — a favorite of Vogue-editor-cum socialite Lauren Santo Domingo — especially considering his past stints at Rochas and Nina Ricci. But if it means less sensible suits and more frothy impracticality, we’re all for it. Especially since we might actually be able to afford some of it! Let’s just hope the 9-5 look agrees with him.
