PHOTOS: Alex McCord Talks Modeling At The Zang Toi Show

Earlier today, we spotted Real Housewives of New York’s Alex McCord slipping into the Zang Toi show, and caught up with her inside on her burgeoning modeling career, how she gets dressed for fashion week, and why she’s a fan of the beloved designer.

Last season on the Real Housewives, we saw you working on your modeling career. How is that going?

It’s going very well. I just had a very exciting editorial shoot last week. I was actually just putting away my phone because I’m also working on an exciting endorsement deal. I’m heading straight back to work after this. (Sadly, the reality star wouldn’t spill any more details on these two projects.)

How do you get dressed for fashion week?

I always try to match the clothes to the designer, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Today I’m wearing a mix: Temperley, Alaïa, and Louis Vuitton.

What do you love about designer Zang Toi?

I love Zang. So many designers have held back [on their pieces] since the economic downturn, but [Zang’s] not afraid to really go there.

After chatting it up with Alex, we made our way to our seat. The lights went down and the excitement went up as the first pounding beats of Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” resonated through the room. First out was a lineup of ladylike pieces in sumptuous whites and creams, truly epitomizing the collection’s “Glamour at Gstaad” theme. Pristine whites faded into moody blacks and grays, marking an undeniable shift in the show, followed by some more romantic gowns. The models kept things lively with their periodic winks and coy over-the-shoulder poses.
