We love fashion, but we know not everybody has the time to scroll through every look in a runway show. Consider this your Cliff Notes to New York Fashion Week.
Cool classics, girly silhouettes and quietly sexy looks abounded on the runway of Rachel Comey’s Spring 2011 collection. Moving slightly away from her oft-eccentric aesthetic, Comey presented a warm weather collection overflowing with understated elegance and subtle refinement –- without being the least bit boring.
The show opened with a gaggle of simply tailored black and white ensembles and slowly progressed into easy breezy shorts and skirts splashed with muted colors and neutral tones. Comey’s folksy mainstays -– loose-fitting separates and flowy dresses -– work alongside work-appropriate tailored button-ups and jackets, making the collection realistic and totally wearable.
From its modest and nonchalant attitude, to its innately hippie-ish vibe, Rachel Comey’s spring collection exudes just enough effortless charm needed for any sultry and sunny day.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
