After all of the guests filed out of the venue following Raf Simons‘ debut ready-to-wear-show for Christian Dior (many of them to return to their hotels to write glowing reviews, as it turns out), the designer sat down for a short interview explaining the direction he took this season for the house. Or should we say haus? The designer has quite a strong Belgian accent, you see.
Give it a watch, and see if you can think of an appropriate name for the versatile jacket/dress/coat garment that was so prevalent throughout the show, but that Simons himself seems to have a hard time pinning down:
“I think another important item for the collection is an item that is difficult to define — it’s kind of like a new jacket, one could say. Or is it a dress? Or is it a jacket-coat? One cannot really say it.”
