FLASH FASHION: Sensory Overload At Rag & Bone
We love fashion, but we know not everybody has the time to scroll through every look in a runway show. Consider this your Cliff Notes to New York Fashion Week.
While the name Rag & Bone may denote minimalism, their spring/summer 2011 collection is anything but. Models paraded down the runway wearing pieces awash in prints, metallics, buckles, harnesses, suede, crochet and eyelet (often all at once). The sheer number of materials and techniques employed by David Neville and Marcus Wainwright is astounding, and resulted in a surprisingly cohesive collection.
But is the stuff wearable? That’s up for debate. Harness bras and crocheted skirts leave little to the imagination, but that’s nothing a little styling (and layering) can’t fix.
