Louise Roe, Blue Blood‘s Sami Gayle, and Smash‘s Katharine McPhee sat in the front row of Rebecca Taylor‘s spring 2013 show on Saturday afternoon. We were hoping McPhee would sing a tune, but she lost her voice and remained mum throughout the show. We were also hoping that the guy next to us wearing a scary gold spike shoulder necklace wouldn’t make any sudden movements and poke our eyes out. Thankfully, he heard our silent prayers, and we focused our peepers on the models walking out from backstage.
For spring, Taylor went for girly looks with a bit of edge and badass flair. Linen vests and leather jackets in pastel hues grounded flowy dresses and skirts, and printed trousers and silk shorts convinced us that the styles were easy to pull off. Meanwhile, A-line frocks were embellished with cool studs around the shoulders and chest, and washed denim was worked into fluid jumpsuits and dresses with obi-style belts.

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
