Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross Also Wants To Get Into Fashion Design

Although Ryan Lochte was the star that everyone wanted to get a piece of at Rebecca Minkoff‘s spring 2013 show Friday afternoon, fellow Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross was also sitting front and center. We caught up with the track and field gold medalist after the show, and she revealed her design aspirations.

The Jamaican native has been making her rounds at New York Fashion Week — she’s been spotted at Peter Som, and BCBG Max Azria, and told us she has more lined up — and even hinted at a future in design. ”I want to. That’s my long-term goal,” she tells us. “I love fashion, and I think I have a niche with sports fashion. Something comfortable, but yet fun and stylish. We’ll see.”

Despite being in the Olympic Village with Lochte during the Games, Richards-Ross actually never officially met him until Minkoff’s show. “I saw him a little bit in the Village, but we were both so busy, so it’s nice to have a little chat with him.”

Considering that Lochte confirmed to us his plans to roll out his own fashion line next year, we had to ask if Richards-Ross would wear one of his pieces. Without even blinking, she replied: “Of course, I would support! Olympics for life!”
