WATCH: Sarah Burton Proves Once Again That She’s A Design Genius

Sarah Burton‘s clothes are heartbreakingly beautiful. The designer has done Alexander McQueen‘s legacy justice, and we’re constantly in awe of her skill. Need an example of just how awesome she is? Let’s discuss how she made a dress out of plates. PLATES!

In a video celebrating Beijing’s new McQueen boutique, Burton talks about one particularly complicated dress from her fall 2011 collection. First she made a porcelain mold of a model’s body, and then things got even crazier:

“We hand-painted 10 different plates. Then we sort of dissected them as if it was broken, so we did a pattern like it was broken. Then we engineered the image onto a bodice. Then we handcut all the porcelain pieces out from the mold we had. Then we made each of those pieces again individually and numbered them. It was like a jigsaw puzzle.”

All of this effort for one dress?! You better believe it. Watch Burton below, and take a peek at the amazing runway look:

Are we looking at the same thing?  Not amazing at all, just ugly and stupid.

I guess her other creations are better. This is totally creepy. For goodness sakes, the only thing that makes you criticize this creation of hers positively is because of her standards in the fashion industry & her name itself! This is plain boring. Nobody except for someone so quality conscious would waste their time digging up to what this outfit is entirely made of. I’d better wear something simple rather than this. The model & the outfit is boring & YES, It’s absolutely breathtaking in a sense that it would creep someone to death. Eww
