Famed French retailer, Colette, has a thing for superheroes. In celebration of DC Comics 75th birthday, the store has asked a number of high end designers to create DC superhero-themed clothes and accessories for their newest window displays, which will be revealed on Monday.
The looks include a Dog Batman T-shirt designed by Lanvin’s Lucas Ossendrijver, Roger Vivier Cat Woman thigh high boots, Plastic Man sunglasses designed by Thierry Lasry; and our personal favorite, a glove inspired by the Green Lantern, designed by none other than Karl Lagerfeld.
We’ll admit that we may not be DC comic book fanatics here at Styleite, but if it’s one thing we know, it’s a great fashion collaboration. Which is why we thought we’d offer Colette some of our own ideas on whom they should team up with.
A full length Batman leather coat by Rick Owens.
A super powerful Wonder Woman Wrap Dress, fully equipped with holding pockets for various weapons by Diane von Furstenberg.
A gorgeous yet practical Eres swimsuit for Aquaman.
An intricate and purposefully distressed green gown for Poison Ivy, designed by Rodarte.
A colorful pop-art and new age Superman suit designed by Henry Holland — and yes, things will pop out of the suit upon command.
An Martin Margiela all-white androgynous, tattered and futuristic suit for Mr. Freeze.
The list is endless. Any ideas of who would be the best to design for The Joker, Lex Luthor, or Two-Face?
