This gorgeous model has graced the glossy pages of Vogue, InStyle and Harper’s Bazaar, and for as little as $750 you could keep her chained up in your hallway. Sounds creepy, but we’re talking about the Brooklyn Cruiser, the vintage-inspired bicycles offering their bodies to Hamptons magazine for the latter’s 35th anniversary.
Nine of these beauties have been dolled up with makeovers by some of New York’s most stylish citizens, and they’re up for auction on Charitybuzz as of this morning. Those getting involved with the project include Elie Tahari, Jonathan Adler, Simon Doonan, Christopher Burch (Tory’s ex, and founder of chic shop C. Wonder) and Hamptons Editor in Chief Samantha Yanks.
We’ve got a serious style crush on Adler and Doonan’s citrus-hued ride with its utilitarian-chic basket and Missoni-style seat. But here’s a pro-tip, don’t leave that on when she’s parked on 1st Avenue at 2:00 AM.
Theirs and the rest of the designs all pay homage to the mag, but you don’t need a five million dollar home out East for a license to ride. Bidding for each bike starts at $750 and they have an estimated value of $2,500. If they do exceed the bank balance Solé’s always got your back, and come on – Citibike blue isn’t that unflattering.
