Mexican-Made Jewelry, Just In Time For Cinco de Mayo

Ditch the Coronas this Cinco de Mayo, and instead, support Mexican designer Daniel Espinosa. The Mexico City native started Daniel Espinosa Jewelry back in 1997, and has decked out stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Halle Berry in his luxurious pieces. Skip the ill-thought-out sombreros and ponchos, and get festive with some of Espinosa’s eye-catching pieces — we’ve got the lookbook right here.

Espinosa launched his jewelry label with a focus on silver, but has since branched out with a collection of gold and pearl bijoux, and has also created clutches and handbags. Pieces start at a few Benjamins and can easily cost four digits, but we’d gladly invest for jewelry that’s handmade by artisans in Mexico. The elaborate baroque details and clean geometric lines don’t hurt, either.

Lucky shoppers in Mexico and Europe can snag pieces from Espinosa’s e-commerce site, but those stateside will have to wait their turn. In the meantime, check out some seriously covetable items below:
