Have you ever bought eyewear online? We have, with mixed results. And unfortunately, while the handful of cheap-o vintage pairs we’ve ordered off of eBay have looked great on (even if they only lasted a couple of months), our one attempt at buying a brand new, full-priced, no doubt Luxottica-made pair of shades ended in disappointment when they arrived and looked less-than-spectacular on. So on to eBay they went. Tear.
Luckily, we’ll be spared this hardship and woe next time we need some new frames thanks to a handy new feature that Gilt Groupe is rolling out tomorrow to coincide with their kate spade new york eyewear sale. Their “On the Go” iPhone app will now feature a “Try it On” component, which will allow you to take a photo of yourself, adjust the pair you’re thinking of buying onto your smiling face, and flip through all the available options to find the perfect fit.
You can also share the photos on Twitter, Facebook, text, or email — because if we learned anything from Mean Girls, it’s that you wouldn’t want to make a purchase without asking your friends first if it looks good on you, right? (thanks, Gretch!)

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
