Thank your lucky stars, lovers of fashion collaborations! Word has it that Target has fulfilled its promise to restock its online store with pieces of its collaboration with Jason Wu, which means you’d better find your credit cards and get near a computer fast.
There’s now a link at the top of Target’s home page that will take you directly to all the goodies from the collection, the entirety of which has been put back online. But it sold out so quickly from both brick-and-mortar stores and Target’s online store when it launched on February 5 that we anticipate it’ll sell out pretty fast this time, too — with tons of people wanting to buy the collection, or wanting to make major bucks reselling it on eBay.
Maybe this act of flooding the market (again) is a way to stop that couple in Miami who bought their local Target’s entire share of the Wu collection from collecting major dollars by reselling their haul? A Target spokesperson told The New York Observer that they had a plan in place that would have stopped such abusive buying, but that not every store followed it.
“We did test limitations on Target.com, so people could only [buy] two items of any given item in a particular size, and some stores did elect to enforce the 2-item policy, but only in select locations.”
Here’s hoping that if Target ever collaborates with a wildly popular designer in the future, they’ll make everyone play by the rules. But for now, go shop!
