Sadly, The J.Crew x Manolo Blahnik Collab Isn’t Happening

Bad news, people. It turns out that the Manolo Blahnik collaboration unveiled at J.Crew’s fall 2012 presentation in New York isn’t, in fact, happening.

Less than two weeks after it was announced, Blahnik himself said the partnership was a complete surprise — which certainly didn’t bode well. And now Fashionista confirms, via a statement from Blahnik’s spokesperson, that the collaboration has been canceled “due to wholesale production restraints on [Manolo Blahnik's] end”.

Manolo Blahnik’s president George Malkemus told Fashionista, “We were looking forward to the potential collaboration between our two brands, we both came to the conclusion that fall wasn’t the right time. We hope to do something together in the future.”

J.Crew offered a similar sentiment and you know what that means: there’s still hope.
