Lyons started working at J. Crew shortly after she graduated from Parsons, and has been climbing the corporate ladder ever since. Last April, she was promoted from creative director to executive creative director, and in July she added president to her impressive title. In an upcoming interview with Bloomberg, J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler addresses the question of Lyons climbing even higher, eventually taking over his post:
“Well how could you say no, right? I mean, I don’t know if she’s going to be watching this or not, but sure…I think everyone has to think about a succession plan. And I think about that too. This is early days, really. And certainly that would be important because the responsibility is to your associates and the shareholders. So yes. You figure out the team and who’s best and you’re always working.”
We can’t wait to see the full interview which airs this weekend, but that little nugget sure made our day.
