Karl Lagerfeld Is Now Designing Jelly Shoes

Karl Lagerfeld has designed all sorts of kooky shoes for Chanel. There were the pair with pistols for heels, the ones which featured fully-functional lightbulbs…even those $950 high top sneakers!

According to WWD, the next footwear frontier for the collab-happy designer is none other than jelly shoes, which he will be creating for Brazilian shoe company Melissa. He has inked a four season deal that will debut in March with a collection of four styles for fall 2013.

We’ve been big fans of some of their past partnerships, with designers like Vivienne Westwood and Jason Wu, even if we never quite figured out what to wear with those wing sandals, so we’re sure Karl’s wares will make a similar splash…especially since they’ll be waterproof!
