Lauren Conrad To Design Second, More Expensive Line

Lauren Conrad is nothing if not perseverant. While her first clothing line, Lauren Conrad Collection, lasted only two years, she has found a moderate amount of success with her Kohl’s collaboration, LC by Lauren Conrad Collection. But that’s not enough for Conrad, who wants to give the eponymous collection another shot — this time with a slightly different spin, and higher price points.

This time, she’ll be working on the new line with “several of her best friends” — which is a warning sign if we’ve ever heard one. Conrad revealed her plans to People mag, while hosting a party (multi-tasking!) at Las Vegas’ Tao club. “It’s a contemporary women’s line. Where Kohl’s is a lot of daywear, it’s a lot of basics. This will be more specialty basics, more of a boutique line. It will be at a higher price point. It will be very different.”

It sounds to us like someone is trying to take a page out of Alexander Wang, Vince, and James Perse‘s books — which also isn’t unlike what fellow Hills alum Whitney Port is trying to do.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first mention of Conrad’s second line. In March of last year, the New York Post reported on her plans to “revamp her line and design with more high-end fabrics.” And apparently that plan is just starting to come to fruition.

Well, you know what they say: If at first you don’t succeed…
