Lil Wayne Unveils His First Clothing Line, ‘Trukfit’

Lil Wayne, wearer of neon green ugg boots and leopard-print hoodies, debuted his first clothing line at an intimate presentation in New York last week. The name? Trukfit.

The clothes will be carried in Zumiez stores and online and are skater-themed, because Lil Wayne loves skateboarding. He talked about his love of the sport with the Wall Street Journal, of course.

WSJ: How has learning to skateboard affected your day-to-day life?

LW: I learned that, first of all, it isn’t a hobby or a sport — it’s a lifestyle. Just by skating, it affects your life, if you really get into it. It affected my day-to-day living because I wanna live like a skater; I wanna be like a skater. I wanna be a skater.

How are you defining skater?

Rad, risky, no-holds-barred. And one thing about a skater: they never quit. They bust their ass until they get what they’re trying to get. So a skater, to sum it up, is awesome.

As for the name, MTV’s Rapfix blog reports:

While on stage, Wayne explained the name “Trukfit” telling fans that as a kid he’d grab new gear from the back of a clothing booster truck.

“When a person could spot a fake, they’d be like ‘you got on the truck fit,’” he said, “So now it’s cool to have on the Truckfit, ya dig!”

Sadly, the collection does not include jeggings. Yet.
