Few things are as chic as a red sole peeking out from underneath a shoe. Covered platforms and sky high heels are among the other attributes shoe king Christian Louboutin is known for. But while heel lovers everywhere rave that platforms make the six to seven inches easy on the feet, even red sole lovers must admit that sometimes, even the most elegant of his shoes cause extreme pain.
Louboutin, who has been busy traveling across America and Europe, landed in New York for this year’s annual Met Costume Gala. And of course, his shoes were found on some of the best dressed ladies of the evening.
“There were a lot of women wearing my shoes. And some of them came up to me and told me they were uncomfortable!” Louboutin admitted.
My response to those who complained to the designer? Boo hoo. Pop an anti-inflammatory and get over it. You’re in Louboutin’s for heaven’s sake! I mean, it’s not like you’re wearing these. We say wear them proudly, embrace the blisters, celebrate the foot cramps, and when you take them off, make sure your soles aren’t too scuffed.
Just to be clear, Mr. Louboutin, painful or not, I’ll wear your heels any day of the week.
