The spring 2013 menswear shows are going down in Europe, and we’ve been taking notes. We loved the cropped bottoms at Jil Sander, coral hues at Gucci, and tailoring at Mugler, even though Franca Sozzani might disagree. While the duds won’t arrive in stores until next year, we’ve hunted down iterations for the ladies that are already on the market.
The trick to dressing like a dude without being mistaken for one is to keep the silhouette comfortable but not baggy, and to incorporate pops of color. A classic button-down paired with colorful shorts is a great way to accomplish this, or try cropped trousers with a slim fit. If you’re still not sold, opt for subtle masculine accessories like leather bracelets with chain detailing and clutches that double as portfolios.
