If you’re anything like us, you’re obsessed with the genius that is Prabal Gurung, but you can’t quite pay runway prices. Fear not! Now we can all own a piece of Prabal! No, he’s not going the collaboration route — he’s just been named chief deisgner for ICB.
Never heard of ICB? We hadn’t either! It’s a Japanese bridge label that launched in 1995 with Michael Kors doing design duties. Viktor & Rolf later designed the collection, which stopped being distributed in the US back in 2002. Now the brand is being relaunched in the States next fall (as well as in Europe the following year) under Gurung’s creative direction. The designer will also be responsible for the collection that’s sold in Asian markets.
“The ICB collection itself, with its price point and appeal, provides a new perspective for me as a designer,” Gurung said of the new gig. Exciting! We’ll get the first look at his ICB designs during Fashion Week in February.
