Rihanna‘s sophomore collection for UK high street brand River Island drops May 25, and since the first sold like hot cakes (or should we say hot pants), we’d advise you start making a game plan now if you want a piece of round two. So what can you expect? We’ve got the details here, but suffice it to say we hope you’ve been hitting the gym.
River Island just released a behind-the-scenes look at RiRi’s design process, showing her tweaking necklines (lower), hoods (stiffer), and floral prints (gangsta-er). “I just wanted to make stuff that I want to wear,” she says, which wer’re inclined to believe, given how much she’s repped her first collection since its debut — not to mention the sheer Rihanna-ness of the duds.
Top-wise, Rih is serving up off-the-shoulder styles in solids and tie-dye prints, paired with high-waisted shorts for some modest midriff flaunting. Another outfit, which we’re guessing is not for the “fat days” the
pop star designer insists she’s accounted for in the line, consists of a mesh maxi skirt and matching cropped tank. Slinky spaghetti strap dresses, printed jumpsuits, and army jackets round out the offerings, although from the looks of the packed rolling racks, there’s a lot more where that came from.
