Flash sale sites are popping up everywhere these days, and Saks Fifth Avenue is jumping on the bandwagon. Joining the likes of Ruelala, Gilt Groupe and eBay, the luxury clothing store will launch its flash sale site, Saks Fashion Fix, tomorrow.
Saks was one of the first full-price retailers to host occasional flash sale events starting in 2009, but saksfashionfix.com will feature daily deals. “There will be five events in the first week, then seven events the following week, and nine events the week after that,” Saks Executive VP, Denise Incandela, told Women’s Wear Daily. Starting next month, the site will have several sales a day.
Saks Fashion Fix is a members only site, which means you have to sign-up for access. Existing Saks newsletter subscribers will be grandfathered in. The sales, which will last 24 hours, will feature past seasons’ collections from brands like Elizabeth and James and Catherine Malandrino. Some sales will feature product made specifically for the event by Saks’ vendor partners.
Said Incandela, “We’re excited about this phase. Consumer behavior is changing rapidly and they’re embracing the flash sale market. This is a tremendous opportunity to attract new customers and increase the existing customer’s spend [on our site].”
Full priced items will also be displayed at the top of the site for customers unafraid to drop a few extra bucks.
