When Gone With The Wind was published 77 years ago on this day, we bet Margaret Mitchell never imagined it’d be made into a three-and-a-half-hour-long movie most people sleep through until the last five minutes.
We’re not most people though, and as fashion-crazed kids, we forced everyone at our slumber parties to watch GWTW and Project Runway-judge Scarlett O’Hara‘s killer costumes.
Now, as even more clothes-cuckoo adults, we’ve handpicked all the curtain dresses and bonnets (kind of) a modern-day Scarlett would need to pout and charm her way through barbecues, Ashley Wilkes’ wedding, and, you know, the Civil War.
To anyone who pooh-poohs wearing crinolines and velvet in June: Frankly, we don’t give a damn.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
