Hot on the heels of the launch of Lanvin (Hearts) H&M comes a sneak peek at Valentino’s across-the-pond collaboration with Gap. We know, we know — it’s less fun to look at when you can’t actually buy the stuff, but the product of brands as iconic and diametrically opposed as Valentino and Gap is worth seeing.
When we first heard about the collaboration, we raised concerns about the potential price point — but while not cheap, the prices aren’t crazy. Ranging from $110 up to $240 at today’s conversion rates, the capsule line includes a skirt, cargo pants, a parka, and a cropped jacket all featuring a large, layered ruffle motif. Of the four pieces, our favorites are the skirt ($110) and the parka ($240), pictured below. The cropped jacket is cute, but seems like it might be tough to integrate into a pre-existing wardrobe, and the we’re not sure who’s going to wear cargo pants with ruffle accents around the crotch. But we could be wrong.
For those of you lucky enough to be continentally based, the collab hits a select three stores this Saturday: Gap’s new Milan store on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Colette in Paris, and two Gap stores in London — Oxford Street and Dover Street Market.
