Vera Wang Knocks Off The Gowns She Designed For Kim Kardashian

Vera Wang designed all three of Kim Kardashian‘s wedding dresses. She also has a rather lovely (and successful) line at David’s Bridal. Now she’s combining the two projects.

Yes, Wang will be selling replicas of two of Kim’s dresses at David’s Bridal. So, she’s basically knocking off her own gowns? They’ll go for less than $1,600 each, and will be available beginning in February. Wang told E! that the dresses won’t be exact recreations (though the price point makes that pretty obvious), and even gave them a sneak peek at the dresses which we’ve included below.

So which two made the cut? The dress Kim wore for the ceremony, and the one she wore for her first dance with Kris Humphries. The original press release we got about those dresses described them like this:

The first gown was an ivory ballgown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand pieced Chantilly lace applique on the bodice and train.

The second gown was an ivory georgette mermaid gown with hand pieced Chantilly lace applique on the bodice. The skirt had hand cut organza petals intermixed with Chantilly lace motifs and organza sprig embroidery.

All of that coming to a David’s Bridal near you! We wonder if Kim is getting a kut (sorry, we had to) of the dress sales. Or maybe this was part of the whole getting-the-dresses-free deal? Hmmmm.

Anyway, take a look at the gowns in this behind-the-scenes video:
