It’s official: Victoria Beckham has caught the designer bug. We know what you’re thinking — she’s been designing clothes for a while. But now her ever-expanding brand — which already includes a range ofbusiness attire in addition to her evening gowns and ready-to-wear dresses — is about to add handbags as well.
It has been confirmed that Beckham has teamed up with accessories designer Katie Hillier to create a line of bags.
A spokesperson for Beckham released the following statement about the bags and the collaboration:
“There is a bag line in development and Katie has consulted on the technical aspects of bag construction in line with her experience in the industry. As with all her ranges, Victoria has sought the best consultants to ensure the highest level of quality at manufacture for her designs.”
So what will the collection look like? Given Hillier’s high fashion background — she’s worked with the likes of Marc Jacobs, Luella, and Henry Holland — and Victoria’s own accessory heavy fashion sense, we’re thinking they’ll be modern takes on classic styles. Think Birken-esque bags paired with interesting patterns or flashier hardware.
