Ah, the difficulties of being a well-dressed man. A lot times we wish we could throw on a dirty tee shirt and ripped jeans, mess our hair up, brush our teeth, and look devastatingly gorgeous. But alas, what makes one man incredibly attractive is not the same for women.
There are some men, however, that take pride in their appearance. They know the difference between gingham and plaid, they opt for a skinny tie rather than a classic Ferragamo, and are well versed in fashion vocabulary. Such men — ahem, Simon van Kempen — may be interested in this:
The world’s most expensive men’s suit is going on sale for an estimated £600,00 — that’s $899,100 at today’s conversion rates. The bespoke suit, designed by Stuart Hughes, took over 600 hours and 500 diamonds to create. Only three have been created — that’s 1800 hours of work and 1500 diamonds — and one has already sold (in a size 41).
The designer, who is known for being the man behind other most-expensive items such as iPhones, televisions, Nintendo equiptment, and model cars, said of the suit:
“It is a very luxurious dark grey suit and will make any man stand out from the crowd. This is the first time I have ever worked with clothing so it was a big step for me but I really enjoyed it. I think we have definitely achieved our aim to create a timeless classic which is also comfortable and wearable. It is the ultimate in luxury fashion. I hope to establish a luxury brand that will not only capture the eyes but the hearts of the consumers. The emphasis on our products is to solidify one’s individuality.”
ZZ Top told us long ago that “everybody’s crazy bout a sharped dress man,” and we have no doubt a man walking around in a $900,000 diamond encrusted suit would be considered an individual. But would you want your man wearing this? Talk about stealing the attention.
