Sophie Theallet moved to Paris as a student when she was 18, and she was instantly taken with the city. It was there she received her first big fashion break, landing a gig with Jean Paul Gaultier. She later worked for Alaïa in Paris before landing in New York.

Naturally, she still has affection for Paris, which continues to influence her work today. In fact, her colorful Nine West spring collection draws inspiration from the City of Light.
