PHOTOS: The 10 Worst Dressed Guests At The Emmy Awards

Nothing makes us happier than seeing a group of famous, beautiful people looking fabulous. But we can’t lie: we get a secret pleasure from seeing them look awful, too! And at the Emmy Awards last night, there was no shortage of awful looking ensembles. From dresses that were way too short and tight to printed fabrics that looked like something you could only see in a kaleidoscope, this year’s worst-dress list looks as bad as the best-dressed list looks good.

1.Lauren Graham

It’s almost as though someone said, “Why don’t we throw a white cotton sack over your elegant black evening dress?” and Graham agreed that it would be a good idea. Colorblocking might help her legs look a mile long, but that’s really all this getup is doing for her.

2.Stephanie Pratt

We’re glad Steph is getting some legit red carpet experience here, but why is she wearing such a short dress? This is a black tie event, and that always calls for a gown. We know you haven’t been doing this that long, but you still have no excuse for not knowing the dress code.

3.Heidi Klum

Heidi, on the other hand, should know better than to show up on the red carpet in less than half a dress –- you would think that with all the red carpet challenges she’s judged on Project Runway, she’d have learned this lesson by now. Her Marchesa outfit was too short, too tight and too too. In some places it’s over embellished, in others you can see the boning in the corset. We don’t know what happened here, but the proportions just feel off. Klum has done much, much better in the past.

4.Carrie Preston

Viewed from the front, one might be inclined to say that this dress was OK. That is, if one could keep one's eyes straight. The psychedelic fabric could give weak children seizures, and from the back and side, Preston’s dress looks like a mess of intergalactic fabric.

5.Jewel

Because the color of this dress is so close to the color of her skin, from far away it looks like she’s suffering from a heartbreaking dermatological condition. Up close, though, you realize that she went for the saccharine sweet factor. And she kinda failed.

6.Mark Salling

While the rest of the Glee cast showed up looking amazing, Mark went his own way. And that way was shiny and wrinkled. When it comes to men’s wear, those are two adjectives you never want to hear.

7.Rita Wilson

We get that she was going for a 60s vibe here, and we respect that. What we don’t get is why her too-short dress has a chain mail overlay and why she let the children’s art class at her local community center decorate her shoes with plastic rhinestones from Hobby Lobby. You'll see what we mean in the next slide.

9.Maura Tierney

We don’t know when the stars are going to learn this, but “red carpet” doesn’t mean you should look like a red carpet. Miss Tierney’s dress fades right into the rug, but thanks to its brocaded, curtainy texture, we can distinguish woman from upholstery.

10.Mindy Kaling

We know she’s supposed to be a comedian, and she always makes us laugh on The Office. But there’s nothing funny about her dress. The fabric looks kinda cheap and the toile looks really annoying. And if that weren’t bad enough, the dress really does nothing for her. She’s dwarfed by the many layers of different black fabric covering up her small frame.

11.Kate Gosselin

We’re still not sure why this woman gets invited to these things, but we’ll bite. It is understandable that with as many kids as Gosselin has she might want to skimp on the dress, but this thing looks downright cheap. There’s no way her skirt is made of a natural fiber, and her sequined halter is way too dated.
