PHOTOS: Leighton Bares Her Bum In Marchesa Jumpsuit

What is with those Gossip Girl girls this week? First Blake has a bra faux pas, and now Leighton looks all sorts of crazy in a lace jumpsuit. What would the people at W think?! Seriously, let’s discuss Leighton cuckoo outfit choice for last night’s Harry Winston cocktail party.

But before we lay into Leighton, we need to confess something. When we saw pictures of this lace jumpsuit from Marchesa‘s spring/summer 2011 presentation back in September, we really liked it! We thought it “read as artful instead of skanky.” Looking back at the picture, we stick by our original assessment — it really is beautiful. However! This is exactly the kind of piece that simply does not translate from the runway to the real world. Case in point: Leighton.

We may have lamented that she’s played it too safe in the past, but the we didn’t want her to take it this far. The jumpsuit makes the slender star look oddly hip-y. While the model from the Marchesa presentation looks tall and graceful, the jumpsuit messes with Leighton’s proportions. The worst offense, however, is undoubtedly the booty-exposing back of the ensemble. Truly bizarre. Also, what is with that weird ball of a bag?

Because we feel bad hating on Leighton, we will say that we think her shoes look cool. But they in no way redeem her almost naked butt.

I think the downfall of this look is really in the styling, not necessarily the actual jumpsuit. It seems as if the suit has been pulled down at the waist, which makes the her legs look…well, fat, and the “naked” feeling could have been turned sexy had she only worn an ankle legging underneath the jumpsuit.

She should just fire her stylist…

Def agree about a nick legging underneath. But she is too short to pull of the style. That’s the problem, no the jumpsuit itself. Of course, if she used a different stylist this garment would not have been a choice to begin with.

I don’t know how tall Leighton is, vs the model, but the model clearly has longer legs. It also looks like she has a shorter torso, and that’s definitely going to place the waistline higher.
Leggings underneath, yes. Something underneath.

Leighton definitely needs to fire her stylist. The belted hip part of the jumpsuit needs to sit higher on Leighton’s body rather than being pulled down too low. This too much exposure of her chest is a disaster because it’s making her torso look TINY! Her body looks so dismorphed, which is a shame because she has a fantastic curvy body! Poor Leighton.

its cause she is 5’5 and she is more of a pear shape body. but i don’t think that jumpsuit would look good on anyone its just gross, maybe they should of had the bottom as as a dress and not lace baggy pants.
