Q&A: Cheap Jeans, Jeggings, And Fast Ways To Get Super Fly
I am a less-than-stylish guy and I scored a date with a super-fly fashionista for Friday, any quick tips on how to make me look fashionable fast?
Lucky you! And don’t fear — there are many quick fixes that will take your S.O.s. (same old stuff) to S.O.S (so obviously stylish). First step, and this is difficult for some guys, lose the light wash baggy jeans! I refer to these dreaded parcels as ‘grandpa pants’ and they have gotta go. Instead, opt for a darker and more fitted pair of denim. Don’t worry, you don’t have to go super skinny, but a simple straight leg will do the trick.
Second step, there are multiple options for what you can pair with jeans that will take you from dud to stud. One of my favorite (and easiest) of these is the skinny tie. Okay, okay, I know you are thinking, “A tie, really?”. Yes, really. This little piece of cloth can transform any dull white collared shirt into a well-accessorized, “How cute, he wore a tie!” outfit.
Another option is the oh-so-reliable plaid shirt. Plaid is big — huge, in fact. You can’t throw a rock without hitting at least one hipster rocking this look. However, the trick to taking this look from trendy to top-notch is to wear a black or gray v-neck sweater over the shirt. Layering is good and the added sweater leads to insta-preppy goodness — I promise girls dig it. And, my last little nugget of advice is to lose the geriatric shoes and dirty sneaks and opt for a pair of black Chucks, they are always a win. Also, open the door, pay the bill, and tell her how beautiful she looks!

The word jeggings is super lame, the product on the other hand isn’t all that bad. While there is nothing better than a well-made pair of jeans, jeggings serve as a lightweight alternative for the achingly hot summer months. Plus, if you are one those people that has a little junk in the trunk and low-rise or skinny jeans just don’t do you any good, jeggings can stretch to fit in all the right places. My favorite brand of jeggings is Joe Jeans, they have a bunch of different styles from acid wash to ripped dark wash and they are just $78 a pop.
