Sarah Palin: Dominatrix Done Wrong

On Friday, Sarah Palin joined John McCain in Arizona for their first public appearance together since the 2008 election.

Instead of focusing on the politics of what Palin was saying — we’ll leave that to Mediaite — we want to take a moment and ask Sarah, who on earth told you to wear that jacket?

We’re all for politicians taking sartorial risks, and we frequently support Michelle Obama’s fashion choices — even when they include a leather over-the-knee boot. But Palin’s zipper biker jacket that she paired with a chandelier earring and her token librarian glasses seemed highly inappropriate and, frankly, ugly.

Are we at a biker rally? Or an 80′s hair band reunion? Perhaps Palin thought her way too-many-zippered bomber would simply scare people into listening to what she had to say. Well, grab your whip, Ms. Palin, you’re on your way to dominatrix status.

Our advice: if you’re gonna go for a leather jacket, opt for one of the Rick Owens ilk, because today’s look is eerily reminiscent of this. See?

I do think she looks silly. That being said I also believe people should wear clothing that makes them happy. So, she feels good in the jacket, more power to her.

Please just answer this one question for me, over and over we hear “express yourself” but when someone does they get hammered, why? This goes on from grade school to well how old is Sarah, so please make up your mind. Do we wear what we want to or what someone tells us to? Personally she can wear what ever but I want to know why this woman is getting hammered where ever she goes, she can’t do anything right so says the media. Why as a woman we are not defending her right to express herself in a way that makes her happy? Dominatrix, really, she looks like a school teacher! Women are being bombarded for everything anymore, enough already.

Respect for imparting this comment. That’s really opportune because I am myself having pains just like this, also I am really planning trying this myself.
