New Trend? Fashion Month Featured These Topless, Bottomless, And All-Out Nude Looks
As much as Fashion Month is all about seeing dreamy clothes on the runways in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, it’s also about the lack thereof. For fall 2013, designers sent out topless, bottomless, and downright naked models, and of course, we have it all right here.
How Much Are Designers Paying Their Models For New York Fashion Week?
There is no shortage of misconceptions about how much models get paid to walk runway shows during New York Fashion Week. But now, thanks to organizations like The Model Alliance and increased online scrutiny, some of them are starting to get cleared up.

After seeing so many half-naked ladies on the runway and red carpet, we’re kind of jaded to the sight of nipples, sideboobs, butt cheeks, and the like. But Marc Jacobs took nakedness to a whole new level at his fall 2013 show last night by putting 18-year-old Lily McMenamy, daughter of legendary model Kristen McMenamy, in a pair of high-waisted briefs and, well, not much else.

Trends come and go, but Ralph Lauren is forever. Yesterday’s runway show was everything we have come to know and love about the quintessential American designer. We stepped inside from the brisk morning air and were greeted with a lavish bouquet of magenta and lilac blooms, Valentine’s Day chocolates courtesy of Dylan’s Candy Bar, and a trio of jaw-dropping antler chandeliers draped and dripping with crystals. Once the show started, it was clear the designer had taken inspiration from the land of czarinas and “Anna Karenina”, though, as always, he kept to the house codes of luxurious, classic Americana.

A couple seasons ago at Calvin Klein, we sat in the second row right behind Anna Dello Russo and were an arm’s length away from Emma Stone and Rooney Mara. This season, we were demoted to the third row, but it’s totally cool because we ended up sitting kitty corner from Jessica Chastain and Olivia Wilde.

Horror Movie Aficionados, Get Ready To Freak Out At The Blonds’ Fall Show
We may still have nightmares to this day about the the creepy twins from The Shining, but to The Blonds, that doesn’t mean they aren’t perfect fodder for runway inspiration. In fact, the scarier the better seemed to be the mantra yesterday at their fall 2013 show, a scene far removed from the uptown elitism on other New York Fashion Week runways. At Milk Studios, Philippe and David Blond channeled classic horror movies like Psycho, The Birds, and, yes, The Shining to create a theatrical, over-the-top collection sure to blow away even the biggest Hitchcock buffs.

Cathy Horyn Weighs In On On Oscar de la Renta Taking In John Galliano
While his residency in Oscar de la Renta‘s studio began only a matter of weeks ago, John Galliano‘s signature drama was noticeably in the air yesterday evening as we settled in to watch what was surely one of the most hotly anticipated shows of New York Fashion Week. Sitting front row was Cathy Horyn, no doubt relieved that all of the Galliano gossip means that the media will be letting barbecue-related bygones be bygones this season. Since she has known both designers for many years, we couldn’t pass up the chance to pick the brain of the New York Times fashion critic about their partnership this season.
ADR On Seeing So Many Models At Michael Kors: ‘It Really Keeps You Smart’
Starting our morning with Michael Kors‘s fall 2013 show is always a good thing, but getting whiplash in the process was perhaps less so. You see, at Kors’ show this morning, about eight models, male and female, were walking the runway at any given time. It was probably due to the fact that the designer was showing a total of 63 looks, and while we would’ve definitely appreciated seeing the looks one by one, Anna Dello Russo was totally fine with it.

Betsey Johnson is one tireless designer. Until two weeks ago, she wasn’t even scheduled to show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, but on Monday night, the cartwheeling designer debuted her new activewear line complete with a mini exercise routine on the runway. The next night, she presented a Valentine’s Day-themed collection to celebrate her new reality show with her daughter, Betsey + Lulu, at Style Media‘s network preview. Whew! Walking into the Nonoo presentation on Tuesday afternoon was like taking a trip to Russia with a British bestie. We were met at the entrance of the High Line Room at the Standard Hotel by a hot male model dressed in a military uniform, while female models in layered and furry ensembles stood in a row, and cater waiters passed around mini meat pies and tea. Every so often, the male model would escort two of the models to switch their positions, sort of a changing of the guards, if you will.
