Alexa Chung Page 2
Alexa Chung has deleted a photo of herself on Instagram after coming under fire from the site’s users for looking too skinny.
Alexa Chung stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night ostensibly to promote her new Lifetime show, 24-Hour Catwalk, which premieres next week, but the pair spent most of the segment discussing the British English-to-American English translations of words as well as Chung’s pretend deejaying skills.
We think the idea Lifetime had when it hired Alexa Chung to be the host of its new fashion reality show 24 Hour Catwalk was that she was cool enough to automatically make the show cool, too. And while we agree that Chung is quite, quite awesome, we don’t think anyone could have made this concept a better show.sty
The British Fashion Council held its British Fashion Awards this evening, and all of our favorite British people walked away winners. Isn’t it nice when that happens?
This was the week celebrities (and normal people) wore lots of Halloween costumes! This was also the week we talked to a few of our girlcrushes (Blake Lively! Alexa Chung! Mindy Kaling!), lamented offensive merchandise, and saw what Courtney Stodden looks like without makeup. Oh, yeah, and Kim Kardashian filed for divorce.
One Pucci dress, two very different ladies. Who looked best? You decide! (Though let’s be real, it shouldn’t be too hard.)
Answer: “I don’t see nothing wrong with a little bump and grind,” Alexa Chung sang to us while wearing our plastic dinosaur ring. Question: Why was last night different from all other nights?
In a fashion fantasy world, does it get much better than snagging an invite to Chanel‘s annual cruise show in the south of France? (A ticket to one of Karl’s couture shows doesn’t count — that’s just impossible.) That’s why these photos of the Kaiser’s favorite lady muses (and, of course, Baptiste Giabiconi) will have us daydreaming about Cap d’Antibes for the rest of the day. And also wondering how Blake Lively managed to not give photogs a full view of her underpants, but more on that in a sec.
Coachella is all about music, obviously, but it’s also all about FASHION. The festival is a veritable celeb playground, crawling with actors and musicians and reality stars all in their weekend-in-the-desert best.
Last night’s Elle Style Awards in London celebrated fashion’s biggest stars as well as stars that happen to be fashionable. Alexa Chung hosted the ceremony, where Emma Watson walked away with the Style Icon award and Blake Lively won for Best TV Star.
Britain may take flak for its climate and cuisine, but its clothing is no laughing matter — and the talented designers, models and megabrands that took home trophies from the British Fashion Awards yesterday are proof positive that our cousins across the pond take fashion very seriously. Above, Alexa Chung won the award for British Style.
Just as the Sunday Styles finally discovered Kim Kardashian, they have now found Alexa Chung. We’ve been following one of Vogue‘s best dressed for quite some time, but the New York Times is just now getting on the Chung wagon.
Models get paid to look great in the clothes normal people wear everyday, so it only made sense to us that they would look absolutely fantastic in things we’d only wear once a year — like Halloween costumes. The gallery inside features all of our favorites: Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Alexa Chung and Kate Moss among them, as well as a few names you might not recognize but who nevertheless shut it down regularly on All Hallows’ Eve.
What happened this week? So many things! Gap got an ugly logo and Alexa Chung wore ugly flats. Lady Gaga continues to be pantless in airports, Abercrombie will lower your sperm count, Kanye loves him some models — and much, much more.
Rag on her shoes though we might, we’ve always thought Alexa Chung was a lovely and talented young woman. But more than a few people have accused her of having an eating disorder, and the model, designer and TV personality is sick and tired of hearing it.
Dear Alexa Chung’s Flats, Why do you exist? No, really: why? How did you, an extremely pointy, creamy beige-colored flat featuring a studded t-strap with no less than three cross-straps including an ankle one, come to be? I’ve done some looking, and I haven’t managed to uncover who designed you, but I’m sad for them.
We normally don’t see much harm in two celebrities wearing the same dress, but when the dress is Chanel, the first wearer is Blake Lively, and the setting is Chanel’s Spring 2011 show, one can’t help but wonder what Chanel’s PR department was thinking when they let Alexa Chung wear it earlier today.
Every now and then one of our favorite style stars will make a sartorial decision we can’t help but regret on their behalf. Sometimes its a bad dress, an unsightly ‘do, or garish makeup — but today’s offender are these studded, strappy, and pointy-toed flats that we spotted in the front row of Monday’s Chloe show. Can you guess who they belong to?
Admit it! The real reason you’ve been trolling through the Met-Gala photo galleries was in the hope that you might catch a passing glimpse of Gaga in all her platinum blonde, pre-performance glory. Well, the lovely folks over at Prada were nice enough to pass along a pic of the Lady herself and leave it to the pop starlet to turn up looking atypically classic when everyone else is trying their best to work the avant-garde.
