Angelina Jolie walked the Golden Globes red carpet tonight in what may be the most interesting dress she’s worn in the last eight years. Satin-y white and featuring a dramatic red, one-shouldered slash, the Atelier Versace dress was a much needed departure from her tendency to wear loose, drapey dresses in neutral colors. While we’re not sure about her decision to match her lips to her purse to the shoulder of her dress, we did love the deliciously cold interview she gave Ryan Seacrest.
With the Golden Globes less than a week away, some of Hollywood’s biggest (and most stylish!) stars took a red carpet warm up lap at the Palm Springs Film Festival Saturday night. While the colors were a little muted — lots of black, beige, and navy — the designs weren’t. Olivia Wilde and Michelle Williams tied for our favorite looks in lace-backed Monique Lhuillier and sequin embellished Miu Miu, respectively.
How many premieres, galas, and red carpet parties can Hollywood host in a night? If it’s the holiday season, plenty. Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie, Charlize Theron, Diane Kruger, Gwen Stefani, and Brooklyn Decker all stepped out in their stylists’ finest choices, just so we could sit in front of our computers chugging coffee and getting a week’s worth of judgement out of our systems. So, who was best dressed? Let’s take a look!
Because magazine schedules make no sense, Vanity Fair‘s October issue drops September 1. And because Vanity Fair is pretty predictable, Angelina Jolie is the cover girl.
Call it Angelina Jolie Louis Vuitton Makeupgate — or don’t — but we have further evidence that the actress was not in fact barefaced in her ad for the luxury brand.
It’s been reported that actress Angelina Jolie isn’t wearing any makeup in her new ad for Louis Vuitton‘s Core Values campaign. And we would officially like to call BS on that claim.
And the Cannes red carpet rages on. Last night’s big draw was The Tree Of Life premiere, which saw star Jessica Chastain face off against Angelina Jolie, Anna Dello Russo, Zoe Saldana, and Gwen Stefani. That’s some stiff competition, the fact that both Dello Russo and Saldana then changed into second gowns for the after party notwithstanding.
And The Tourist press tour continues! This time, Angelina Jolie stepped out in Spain to fete her new film. While Brad Pitt reiterated his love for leather pants, Jolie opted for an Atelier Versace gown featuring Swarovski crystal studded bustier, diamond earrings, and some pinky bling.
In the grand tradition of forcing you to make tough decisions based solely on the fashion choices of the rich and famous, we bring you today’s sartorial showdown: Angelina Jolie in black versus Gwyneth Paltrow in white. Let’s take a look!
You’ve heard of a sweater dress, but have you ever heard of a sweater gown? We sure hadn’t. Until today, that is. Why? Because last night Angelina Jolie wore a Versace sweater gown to the New York premiere of The Tourist.
You know how sometimes you read about a new product and realize immediately you won’t be able to afford it? That’s sort of how we feel about Angelina Jolie‘s new jewelry line.
As we were exiting the subway this morning, we saw a girl wearing leather pants. We thought to ourselves, “Well, that’s unfortunate.” And then we made our way up Broadway to the uber-stylish Styleite HQ where nobody ever wears leather pants ever. But just now we came across some photos of Brad Pitt‘s legs swathed in leather. So today has officially become the day we can’t escape leather pants.
We learned lots of things this week! The Kardashians‘ deal with MasterCard has turned sour, fake Vuitton bags are hard to come by and Karl Lagerfeld is a cocktail. Also: Angelina Jolie is a four-time Vogue cover girl, and magnetic underwear is a thing that exists.
In a fabulous yet somehow unexpected choice, Angelina Jolie covers the December issue of Vogue. We’re not sure why we think it’s unexpected — this is her fourth Vogue cover, after all — but somehow Jolie and Vogue, especially the utilitarian, fashion-eschewing Jolie she’s become, make for a surprisingly odd couple. But no matter, the interview is fascinating and wide ranging, and the portrait — shot by Mario Testino — is gorgeous.
We’ve been giving Angelina Jolie a rough time of late, harping on her for wearing too little color or for shrouding her figure in sack-waisted dresses. Now, either the fashion gods are listening — or Jolie’s stylist is, because she showed up for the Paris premiere of Salt in a shimmering, creamy white cocktail dress with a deep v-neck, nipped waist, and asymmetrical straps. We’ll forgo the color if she continues to look like this.
Angelina Jolie and the cast of Salt celebrated the action flick’s UK premiere in London today — and in true Jolie form, the actress wore a neutral-toned and relatively shapeless gown paired with a smokey eye and not a single stitch of jewelry.
Angelina Jolie celebrated Salt’s Japan premiere in what at first glance appeared to be a relatively demure, if not positively dowdy black gown. Featuring a mock turtleneck, long, flowy sleeves, and a relatively loose waist, the dress seemed initially unremarkable. That is, until we realized the slit in the skirt ended somewhere around her hip bone. And that’s not to mention the back…
Hollywood’s brightest showed up at Comic-Con this past week. But what ever is a normally red carpet-ready celebrity supposed to wear to a comic-themed convention? Apparently that’s the question some of our favorite and usually best-dressed ladies had some trouble answering.
Hollywood celebrated the premiere of Salt last night, and despite the distraction of her desperately handsome husband, it was hard to see anything other than Angelina Jolie — partially because her Emporio Armani dress was so sparkly.
Much has been made of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s penchant for boy’s clothing, most of it entirely sensational and borderline offensive. Angelina Jolie, who covers the August issue of Vanity Fair, opened up to the magazine about Shiloh and what she calls her “Montenegro Style.” Naturally, we’d also like to add our own two cents.
