When a heatwave overtook New York City last week, we all fled home to luxuriate in our air conditioners and catch up on some television. It was then, pint of Talenti gelato in hand, we had this revelation: there’s a whole lotta look going on on TV these days. Even in the quiet months without Mad Men, small screen stylists are putting in work. Each Monday, we’ll look at the ensembles that elevated a character, stole a scene, or just made us want to turn off the tube and go shopping.
The stars turned out for Spike TV‘s Scream 2010 Awards (an event “honoring the best in sci-fi, fantasy, comics and horror”), and we rounded up some red carpet looks for you. Check out our slideshow, and tell us who looked fab and who looked drab!
Last night’s Emmy Awards was too jam packed with fashion commentary for us to fit it into one post. So we’re giving you two more. And to start the day off on a happy note, here are our picks for the best dressed of the night.
At most stylish red-carpet-y events, we’ve been trained to expect to see clothes that look good on the stars we love. At last night’s Women in Film Pre-Emmy Dinner, we saw Elisabeth Moss look stunning, and everyone else looking, well, not-so-stunning.
Comic Con isn’t very high on our list of fashion events, though we can’t help but admire people’s dedication to replicating costumes. But when celebrities show up to the convention dressed to the nines, we take notice. Case in point: True Blood stars Rutina Wesley and Anna Paquin showed up yesterday glowing, gorgeous, and both sporting some pretty amazing outfits. But which do you prefer? Rutina’s combination of a blazer and cleavage, or Anna’s one shoulder sparkly charcoal creation?
