Ashley Olsen Page 1
We’ve been trained to believe that the Olsens do everything together, but there’s a new major exception.
Creepy-amazing megamultimillion dollar moguls Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have just added a new line to their resumes: Paparazzi photographers. Think about it: They’re small, quiet, elusive and have a penchant for wearing cloaks. It makes perfect sense.
Unfortunately, we have yet to master the ever-coveted Olsen hair, so in the mean time we’re getting our Mary-Kate and Ashley fix by poring over their new interview and spread for Net-a-Porter’s The Edit.
We have good news and bad news — The good news is that Mary Kate and Ashley’s hairstylist Mark Townsend has revealed the secrets behind their divinely-unkempt hair to The Coveteur. The bad: their ridiculously perfect texture is encoded into their DNA and not the result of a top secret elixir. But wait! You can still reap the benefits of using their easy-as-pie techniques. Essentially it comes down to five sacred tricks:
Even though we could make any number of jokes about how anything they manage to wear must’ve been already styled for kids, these chic twinsies constantly keep us guessing and we’d certainly entrust our imaginary future children to their styling wizardry.
Hats off to this year’s honorees on Forbes‘ 30 Under 30 list! Every year, the magazine rounds up the brightest stars in fields like media, technology, and finance, and 2012′s selection boasts some very deserving names.
WSJ. threw a huge bash at the MoMA Thursday night to celebrate the work of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, honoring them with the publication’s ‘Innovator of the Year’ award for the second time for their ”monastic classicism that’s redefining American luxury”. Did you hear that, guys? Expensive furry backpacks are the new American luxury! But joking aside and on to the important stuff — everyone showed up in awesome clothes!
Peep some of the designs and drawings from UK fashion illustrator Hayden Wiliams, who is apparently Rihanna’s “boo.”
Chanel‘s Little Black Jacket exhibit was only in New York for a short week, and it’s currently halfway around the world in Taipei. But don’t sweat it if you missed the photo exhibit because you can pre-order a copy of the Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld-styled tome here. Sisters (like, actual blood-related sisters who grew up under the same roof) are doing it for themselves. The 2011 edition of Vogue‘s Best Dressed issue is dedicated to superstar siblings from all over the world, and everyone’s favorite designing duo, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, sit front and center on the issue’s cover.
For a brief moment this fall, it looked like anklets were going to be the next big thing. The Olsens sported them at various fashion shows, as did the kickass Princess Sirivannavari. We can’t say we’ve seen a lot of ankle adornment since, but just in case you want to help make
fetch anklets happen, grab yourself one of the $4,000 Ileana Makri for The Row pieces!
This was the week of model lawsuits, Vogue Photoshop abuse, and offensive advertising. We also learned about Fashion’s Night Out plans and September issues. And did you know Sarah Palin had polka-dotted toenails?

Obviously you need to get yourself an exotic skin bag made by a celebrity designer. BUT WHICH ONE?! You have two feasible options. We will present both.
When we saw Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen‘s latest video, it made us nostalgic for the Olsen videos of yore. They sang! They wore silly outfits! They totally ruled!
Leave it to the Olsens to make Toms the latest fetishized footwear. What started out as a simple canvas espadrille has expanded to include corduroy, sequins, and now even cashmere, thanks to a recent collaboration with Mary-Kate and Ashley.
