We’re not even sure that singer Pink could pull of this look quite as seamlessly as Dame Helen.
While walking up to accept her BAFTA award for Best Leading Actress in The Iron Lady, Meryl Streep suffered that great indignity of indignities, the fear of all photographed people everywhere: a wardrobe malfunction. Luckily, her prince charming Colin Firth was there to save her.
This week we went to more fashion shows than we knew was possible, consumed a whole lot of Lady Gaga news and got to see Carine Roitfeld‘s last Vogue Paris cover. We were also privy to the Grammys red carpet, some fancy dogs and Lea T‘s Oprah appearance. So, yeah, it was a pretty great week.
Emma Watson is usually one of our red carpet favorites, but she didn’t make our BAFTA Awards best dressed list this year. She donned a one-shouldered Valentino gown for the show, and it just didn’t quite work.
The BAFTA Awards are the British version of the Oscars (BAFTA stands for British Academy of Film and Television Arts, by the way). As such, the show’s red carpet can be quite a glamorous spectacle. Though there were some definite hits (Emma Stone, you go girl!), there weren’t too many looks we went crazy for. Even Styleite fave Emma Watson kind of disappointed!
