Apparently, sometimes even Beyoncé has to remind herself of just how much (and why, and how) she rules the world. To that end, the pop star keeps a meticulous, borderline-crazy sounding “archive room” in her midtown Manhattan office, according to the interview that accompanies her racy February GQ cover that was released yesterday.
Beyoncé spent her New Year’s Eve being awesome, and put on a private show in Las Vegas. For part of the performance, she wore a custom leotard (seen below) from Rubin Singer, who started his eponymous label in 2007 after stints at Oscar de la Renta and Bill Blass. He has worked with a slew of celebs, but in an interview with Glamour, he reveals that Bey and sis Solange are by far the cleanest ones.
But that’s not all. The brand Bey loves to name-drop is going to be shaking things up!
The red carpet at last night’s BET Awards in Los Angeles was like a runway of sorts. Ladies wore every style imaginable — from mini dresses to harem pants to couture confections. Some were obviously better dressed than others, but which lady looked best?
Sisters (like, actual blood-related sisters who grew up under the same roof) are doing it for themselves. The 2011 edition of Vogue‘s Best Dressed issue is dedicated to superstar siblings from all over the world, and everyone’s favorite designing duo, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, sit front and center on the issue’s cover.
Styleite’s longtime love affair with singer, actress, and walking entertainment empire Beyonce Knowles is no secret. So today, on her 30th birthday, we thought we would take a look back at the clothes that made the woman we love to love.
When we found out we were going to see Beyonce perform live for Good Morning America, we jokingly texted a friend that it would be a life changing experience. We were wrong to joke.
Beyonce‘s music video for Run The World (Girls) found its way to YouTube late Wednesday, and it is chock full of Fashion with a capital F. Beyonce filled a post-apocalyptic world with looks from the most major of major fashion houses, including Alexander McQueen and Givenchy. But not just regular Givenchy — Givenchy Haute Couture.
Turns out the folks at Gucci can get their dresses on multiple magazine covers, just like their friends at Balmain and Dolce. The woven metallic dress that closed the Gucci spring 2011 show has landed on two pretty high-profile magazine covers, gracing the curves of Naomi Campbell on June’s Vogue Japan and Beyonce on March’s L’Officiel. And somehow, we can’t decide who wore it better.
The magazine that convinced singer Beyonce Knowles to paint her skin a darker shade of brown for a photo shoot says she wasn’t in blackface, but in ritualistic African face covering. Do you think we buy that explanation? Read on to find out.
The British Advertising Standards Authority has ordered that a commercial for Beyonce Knowles‘ perfume Heat not be shown before 7:30. Why? Because it’s just too hot for daytime television.
