Last night, Blake Lively stepped out to celebrate her place on this year’s Time 100 list, and while Lively on a red carpet anywhere would make headlines, this appearance is one for the history books.
Blake Lively may not want to launch her own clothing line, but she’s still the face of the world’s most famous one. On Monday, WWD published the first of Lively’s ads for Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line; today, we have the remaining two images and four exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from her shoot with Karl Lagerfeld himself.
Blake Lively — though she maintains she’s stylist free — usually manages to ace the fashion gauntlet that is a red carpet. But at Thursday night’s opening of Realm boutique in NYC, Lively arrived in one of the strangest outfits we’ve seen in a while — Lady Gaga and her ilk not included, of course. We love Blake Lively because she’s gorgeous, talented, and seems like someone we could be friends with. But every now and then we start to second guess ourselves and wonder if we aren’t confusing love with some serious Single White Female obsession with being her — and the October issue of UK Marie Claire is not helping.
We’re pretty sure we could dictate the entire plot of the next season of Gossip Girl based solely on the crazy amount of paparazzi shots that have been published throughout the fashion community. Last night, Blake Lively celebrated the premiere of her Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford’s new film, “Twelve.” But while we normally love Lively — and her mind-bogglingly fabulous cleavage — we’re a little disappointed in this dress. From Chanel’s 2011 Cruise collection, the dress features an open back — which is great — and a flower-patterned lace midsection, which is not so great.
