Cannes Film Festival Page 1
The Cannes Film Festival drew to an end this weekend, and oh, what a glamorous ride it’s been. From perfectly pared-down looks to full-on, look-at-me show-stoppers, the red carpet offerings have run the gamut, and this weekend’s Closing Ceremony and Zulu premiere was no different. Nicole Kidman cemented her Most Sophisticated title in an elegant Giorgio Armani column, while Laetitia Casta appeared to have sprouted wings, and one attendee got a little too carried away with her slit-up-to-there gown.
Paraphrasing a Bob Marley lyric, when it rains, it doesn’t just rain on one of us. The downpour, and ensuing awkward moments, at the 66th annual Cannes Film Festival proved that sentiment true, as even the zillionaire celebrities got caught in the rain — and caught in less-than-flattering moments by prying photographers’ lenses. In this gallery, walk the red carpeted memory lane through the sloppy kisses, crazy poses, and, yes, wardrobe malfunctions, that cropped up between all that amazing fashion.
Just about everyone, from Marion Cotillard to Karlie Kloss to Bianca Balti, opted to bare their backs for today’s premiere of The Immigrant at the Cannes Film Festival. And yet, despite the inevitable lack of bras on the red carpet, there wasn’t a single wardrobe malfunction. High fives all around, stylists!
There’s nothing like stark white or a good old fluorescent to set off a summer tan, and it looks like the ladies of the French Riviera have been spending some time at the beach — or at least getting a very good faux glow. In today’s installment of Cannes Film Festival gorgeousness, see Kylie Minogue, Jessica Chastain, Sharon Stone, and a whole bevy of gussied-up models fête Cleopatra, Chopard, Bulgari, and more.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s modelizing ways are almost as notorious as his character Jay Gatsby’s shadier dealings, and at the film’s premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the 38-year-old actor was allegedly up to his usual tricks. Unfortunately for him, this time he didn’t bag the blonde he hoped for.
So far the most exciting news out of 66th annual Cannes Film Festival is that Emma Watson stepped out looking a little bit blah. Once. Imagine our excitement when photos from yesterday’s Cleopatra premiere came in with a kooky caped thing and a strappy, leather skirt that’s way more bondage than boring.
Another day, another dose of red carpet eye candy from the Cannes Film Festival. In today’s gallery, we’ve got Zoe Saldana in romantic, regal Valentino, a bevy of models at a “secret” Le Baron fête, and Marion Cotillard in Dior so fresh Raf Simons was probably still packing up the runway version.
It was quite the weekend over in the French Riviera, with red carpet favorites like Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard, and Zoe Saldana stepping out to fête a host of films. Did their fashion picks up the ante at the Cannes Film Festival? Read on to find out.
Yesterday’s premiere of French coming-of-age film Jeune and Jolie played host to some of the best gowns we’ve seen out of the Cannes Film Festival so far. It also brought out some of the worst.
The Cannes Film festival shows the movies we can’t stop talking about, and celebrates the stars who outshine even themselves year after year (see: Nicole Kidman and Paz Vega, for a start). Today, it was refreshing to see a group of girls, nascent in their Hollywood lives, take to a red carpet like seasoned pros.
We here at Styleite adore Emma Watson, but her ensemble at today’s photocall for The Bling Ring left us feeling a tad uninspired. On the other hand, she could totally give Anne Hathaway some pointers on how to wear darts without inciting a torrent of internet comments focused on one’s nipples. So at least there’s that.
And here we thought Carey Mulligan and Nicole Kidman were going to have all the fashion fun in the French Riviera this week.
Photocall attire is fine and dandy (especially when it’s as good as today’s offerings), but the real action from the Cannes Film Festival doesn’t start until the first star hits the red carpet at the Opening Ceremony. And tonight’s is shaping up to be a stunning showing — even if the dresses are in danger of getting a little drenched in the downpour.
If the first looks to come out of the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival are any indication, we’re in for a real treat from the French Riviera — albeit a rather monochromatic one.
This week, in hotel rooms all over Cannes, meticulously-packed gowns are being unloaded from their trunks in preparation for the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Since we’re way across the Atlantic Ocean, we’re preparing by taking a look back at our absolute favorite looks to come out of the French Riviera in the past five years. Somehow we even managed to restrain ourselves from making this a solo gallery of Diane Kruger — for the most part.
Fashion designers have apparently been all in a tizzy about the lack of stylish leading ladies set to headline this year’s Cannes Film Festival. If the rumors are true, however, one jury member is poised to change all that. And without swaths of other Hollywood femmes competing for the limelight, it’ll be a great chance for her to bring her A-game to the red carpet. So, what should Nicole Kidman wear? Here are our picks.
The Mistress of Ceremonies for this year’s Cannes Film Festival has just been announced as none other than Ms. Amélie herself, Audrey Tautou! The Gallic gamine is sure to have some gorgeous gowns in store for us this May, but until then, let’s have some fun speculating about what she’ll choose, shall we?
It looks like the Cannes Film Festival hasn’t been very fun for Alec Baldwin.
The dresses at the amfAR Gala tonight were disappointedly subdued for such a fancy event.
Fancy parties and fancier premieres at Cannes brought out amazing dresses — well, some amazing dresses.
