This week, in hotel rooms all over Cannes, meticulously-packed gowns are being unloaded from their trunks in preparation for the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Since we’re way across the Atlantic Ocean, we’re preparing by taking a look back at our absolute favorite looks to come out of the French Riviera in the past five years. Somehow we even managed to restrain ourselves from making this a solo gallery of Diane Kruger — for the most part.
Kanye West debuted his short film Cruel Summer at Cannes last week, and as we reported, it was an impressive (and impressively large) production.
The dresses at the amfAR Gala tonight were disappointedly subdued for such a fancy event.
The Cannes red carpet coverage continues and things are still looking good.
Are you over Cannes yet? Well, we’re not!
Fancy parties and fancier premieres at Cannes brought out amazing dresses — well, some amazing dresses.
This was the week of Cannes, Botox mom, and Lady Gaga. Also, Carla Bruni is probably, definitely pregnant, and Jane Pratt‘s website launched. And, you know, beards!
What do Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Doutzen Kroes, and Milla Jovovich have in common? Yes, they’re all in Cannes but, more importantly, they all looked awesome. Kirsten rocked polka dot Rodarte while Milla was statuesque in Prada. Doutzen and Charlotte both opted for black, though the former came in the form of a sleek, drape-y gown, while the latter was a brave, pregnant tummy-baring skirt and shirt combo. Who was your fave?
T minus four days until the
fashion film extravaganza that is Cannes goes on a shlubby year long hiatus, which means it was perfect timing for some of the world’s best known models to descend onto the festival like so many expensively dressed swans. Naomi Campbell, Bar Refaeli, Doutzen Kroes, Karolina Kurkova, and new-to-us-name Bianca Balti stepped out Tuesday night in the fanciest (and tightest) of designer duds. But who looked best?
Another day, another steady stream of celebs walking the red carpet in Cannes. Last night Diane Kruger, Tilda Swinton, Aishwarya Rai, and Mia Wasikowska stepped out in show-stopping looks by some of fashion’s biggest names. We’ll show our hand and dub Tilda’s Haider Ackermann ensemble our favorite of the night — but which was yours?
The 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday in the South of France and while we’ve got plenty of red carpet recaps coming your way, we figured we’d kick off our coverage the way the festival did: with a performance by Lady Gaga.
Between the Oscars, the Met Gala, and Cannes, recent red carpets have seen a dearth of color. Luckily, the Cannes Closing Ceremony had Kirsten Dunst and Diane Kruger to liven things up a little bit, as each chose to go bright (and then go home.)
