With all of the excitement over Kate Middleton’s royal baby bump, we’d almost forgotted about those other parts of her anatomy that became the object of tabloid fascination a few months back. Yes, we’re talking about those pesky topless photos. They’re back in the news today following reports that two indictments related to their publication have been made in French court. We’ve been toying with the idea of bringing back our old school uniform kilt lately (thanks, Malia), and Kate Middleton‘s latest outfit is only fueling the fire. The Duchess paid a visit to St. Andrew’s today, the elementary school she attended from 1986-1995, and paid homage to the academy’s signature tartan and forest green in a plaid McQ coatdress.
Last year (almost to the day!), Kate Middleton debuted an uncharacteristically hippie-ish peace sign-patterned Mulberry frock. Today, the Duchess pulled it back out of the depths of her closet for the official opening of The Natural History Museums’s Treasures Gallery.
Kate Middleton sure has been busy lately, what with taking in the Olympics, playing various sports in pretty dresses, and watching Queen Elizabeth fall from the sky during the Opening Ceremonies. Today, however, she took some time away from sporting events to attend the Creative Industries Reception at the Royal Academy of Arts, wearing a draped Roksanda Ilincic dress, suede pumps, and sparkly earrings.
Middleton, ahoy! We hope you didn’t blow all of your savings on Jubilee gear for this weekend, because it has come to our attention that two hats worn by Duchess Catherine in her pre-royalty days will be up for auction later this month.
In a bit of cool girl power news, the British monarchy is going modern, changing the rules of succession to give female royals total equality.
Much as we like to think of Prince William and Kate Middleton as a modern couple, their marriage is governed by some very archaic rules. Prince William proposed to his now-wife Kate with Princess Diana‘s sapphire and diamond engagement ring, and it looks like he’s also gifted her with coordinating earrings from his late mother.
