Chanel Page 2
Karl Lagerfeld is taking advantage of the last week of the year to crack us up one final time with his notable quotables. Check out what he had to say in this wide-ranging interview on BBC Radio 4 this morning.
Sadly, Chanel did not enlist Brad Pitt to recite “The Night Before Christmas” for this year’s holiday video. Perhaps the actor was a tad too busy tracking down toys for his brood in the south of France and remaining “blissfully protected” from the many, many parodies of his first ad for the house? That’s not to say the festive film isn’t still a treat for the eyes, however.
Just when we thought Elle Fanning couldn’t get any cuter, she has a giggle fit on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno after being asked about her first on-screen kiss.
In the vein of The Row’s pill-covered $55,000 leather backpack collaboration with Damien Hirst, Los Angeles artist Desire Obtain Cherish series of luxury branded pills packs takes our addiction to fashion to a whole new level.
Rest assured you’re not alone in your confusion over what Brad Pitt means when he intones, “It’s not a journey, every journey ends and we go on” in those Chanel No. 5 commercials.
Chanel‘s annual Métiers d’Art show walked last night far from the slick runways or cozy salons of Paris, in a crumbling castle outside of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Brad Pitt‘s Chanel No. 5 campaign has been the butt of many jokes since it dropped last month, perplexing audiences with its rambling script and disheveled leading man, but as it turns out, the actor himself hasn’t seen any of the parodies.
Every once in awhile, an item comes along that is a once-in-a-lifetime find. It’s now or never, and you just have to go for it. This is one of those times. (Or it would be in or dreams, at least.)
From a kilted Karl to a bagpipe bag, we have some ideas for Chanel‘s upcoming Métiers d’Art show, set to be staged at Linlithgow Palace near Edinburgh, Scotland.
Karl Lagerfeld is the most quotable of designers. Sometimes the things that come out of his mouth are hilarious, sometimes they’re mean-spirited, and sometimes they’re just downright bizarre…like when he compared jackets to the ’60s black empowerment movement on Thursday. Uh, come again?
What’s the only thing better than winning a classic Chanel 2.55 handbag? Winning a classic Chanel 2.55 handbag and a $500 giftcard to one of our favorite shopping sites out there.
Between Chanel‘s Little Black Jacket exhibit opening in Australia and the premieres of Cloud Atlas and Skyfall in California, we got a good dose of red carpet action last night. But the most important question is, as always: who was best dressed?
Are you ready for this jelly?
Brad Pitt‘s first ad for Chanel No. 5, which pretty much amounted to a black-and-white clip of the slightly unkempt-looking leading man reciting a poem to the fragrance, has garnered its fair share of ridicule since it was released on Monday, not least because the actor was reportedly paid $7 million for the spot. Mercifully, however, that was only the first of the ads.
As easy as it is to make fun of the infamous hula hoop bag that was sent down the runway at Chanel‘s spring show, we not-so-secretly wish we had one to call our own (just think of all the things we could hang on it at the beach! Thanks for the tip Karl!)
A room of gorgeous people dripping in Chanel and diamonds — could anything be more glamorous? Well, perhaps if the rain had held out, but no matter. The 80th anniversary of Coco Chanel‘s “Bijoux De Diamants” collection was still a sight to behold.
Karl Lagerfeld does not seem like the type of person who can be made to feel awkward. Ever. So it’s a good thing he was on hand to help Jennifer Lopez through a very uncomfortable television appearance on the German show Wetten, Dass…?. It’s unclear what they talk about at first, since everything is, well, in German and Lopez doesn’t venture much past monosyllabic answers, but once they get on the topic of Chanel, the actress/singer/all-around-powerhouse loosens up a little more and talks about bringing her daughter Emme to see the show this season.
Brad Pitt is the first dude to ever front a Chanel No. 5 ad campaign, and as such, both he and the brand are clearly trying to make a big statement. So far, though, he’s just made us giggle.
The history of Chanel is one for the books — and the web.
Jennifer Lopez and beau Casper Smart looked like they enjoyed themselves at the Chanel show on Tuesday. However, the same could not be said for Lopez’s four-year-old daughter with Marc Anthony, Emme. In fact, she looked nearly as unimpressed in the front row as Olympian and Internet meme McKayla Maroney did getting a silver medal.
