Cindy Crawford Page 1
And she does it damn well…
In Business of Fashion’s recent profile of Lynn Yaeger, the unorthodox fashion journalist revealed that she and her dear friend, Paper’s Mickey Boardman are often taken aback at how far they’ve come from their humble beginnings. That got us thinking: what other industry figures started in a no-name town before gunning it for the big city.
Cindy Crawford has some of the most widely-acclaimed publications under her belt. There’s Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, and of course, the DeKalb Nite Weekly. You may think the latter doesn’t stack up to the rest, but considering it’s what gave the supermodel her big break, we think it’s time to show the weekly some love — and Cindy does, too. See the vintage pic after the jump.
Last night’s red carpets brought sheer shirts, ill-advised jumpsuits, and tragic floral muumuus. Need some tips on what not to wear this weekend? Here are some pretty good ideas.
Cindy Crawford may be a supermodel, but even she had a tough time when she first started in the industry. In the latest installment of Oprah’s Master Class, Crawford opens up about a horrific haircut that taught her to be her own advocate.
Sometimes red carpets are a formal affair, and other times, they’re totally casual. Case in point: nearly every one was in denim or some sort of summer dress at John Varvatos‘s 10th Annual Stuart House Benefit in Los Angeles on Sunday.
George Clooney is hawking tequila with Cindy Crawford‘s husband Randy Gerber, so who better to appear in a commercial for the liquor than Crawford herself? Well, how about Stacy Keibler, and Clooney himself? Yep, it’s Thirsty Thursday, peeps!
As much as we loved Cindy Crawford as the original host of MTV’s House of Style, Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls are doing a mighty fine job themselves. Their first episode is out, and it follows the two during Paris Fashion Week from the hustle and bustle of backstage to the glamorous parties.
Let’s all give MTV a big hand. Why? Well, they’ve just posted the 22-minute House Of Style: Music, Models, and MTV documentary that they promised us all a few weeks ago, which by the sounds of things is the fruit of plenty of blood, sweat, and tears.
Now that we’ve swapped our heavy coats for spring blazers and our ankle boots for strappy sandals, we’re ready to put down the Cabernet in favor of something a little more tropical. And if that drink is good enough for Cindy Crawford, it’s certainly good enough for us.
Cindy Crawford‘s daughter’s stint as a model for Young Versace will be her last — for now. Mama Crawford says her little girl, Kaia Gerber, is going to have to wait until she’s older if she wants to actually do work as a model.
The Super Bowl means many things to us — nachos, pigs in a blanket, buffalo wings, and commercials. (Oh, and “football”.)
Not only is Versace entering the fancy kids’ clothing arena with Young Versace, its ad campaign stars some serious supermodel spawn.
Duran Duran’s much anticipated and highly teased video for their latest single, “Girl Panic” is finally here and, as promised, it stars a quintet of ’90s supermodels: Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell, and Yasmin Le Bon (who is, it should be noted, married to frontman Simon). In a cute twist, the supers all play members of the band, with Campbell as Le Bon and Christensen stealing the show as hard-partying drummer Roger Taylor.
Rockstars and supermodels go together like peanut butter and Oreos, so it’s no surprise to us how excited the fashion industry has been about some of the original 90s supermodels starring in a new music video for Duran Duran. The video hasn’t been released yet, but a new spread in Harper’s Bazaar UK has a good idea of what the final product will look like.
The Venice Film Festival officially kicked off Wednesday with the premiere of George Clooney’s Ides of March. While, sadly, Ryan Gosling was nowhere to be found, Evan Rachel Wood, Diane Kruger, Marisa Tomei, and Cindy Crawford gave the red carpet all the sartorial eye candy we needed. Who was best dressed?
This was the week of model lawsuits, Vogue Photoshop abuse, and offensive advertising. We also learned about Fashion’s Night Out plans and September issues. And did you know Sarah Palin had polka-dotted toenails?
The September issues are rolling in, and we’re excited to announce that Cindy Crawford landed one!
Last month, we heard reports that Naomi Campbell was rounding up all her supermodel friends for an early ’90s inspired music video shoot. Allegedly the brainchild of Yasmin Le Bon, wife of Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon, the group apparently reunited in Cannes during the festival to talk details — and now, courtesy of Stefano Gabbana (who else?), we’ve got photo evidence that it’s most definitely happening.
