Usually when you drop a couple grand on an outfit, you don’t want to look like you dug it up out of the bottom of a mildew-y thrift shop bargain bin, right? Wrong. Well, at least according to the Olsen twins, Hedi Slimane, and of course, Courtney Love.
Remember when Courtney Love‘s landlady tried to get her thrown out of her high-rent Manhattan brownstone for making unapproved renovations and not paying her rent? Yeah, well, it didn’t work.
Let’s give some credit where credit is due. Courtney Love is sort of a major fashion person — and, well, this is not a recent development. The singer has apparently been collecting clothing longer than she’s been ruining expensive real estate — longer, in fact, than some of us have been alive.
This week the Obamas wore awesome things, Elizabeth Taylor‘s jewelry sold for a whole lot of money, and Courtney Love got evicted. We also learned that Meryl Streep is a total kickass feminist, and that Fashion’s Night Out is unfortunately here to stay.
Fashion-and-music lady Courtney Love is fighting back against her landlady, who is trying to evict her from her West Village townhouse for failing to pay rent and “redecorating” the place without getting permission first.
Courtney Love is being thrown out of her New York home, and for good reason(s).
Valentino is having quite the week, and we’re happy to be along for the ride. On Monday we attended a press conference at MoMA to get the details on the Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum, and last night we feted the project with the designer and his fancy friends.
When you spend the entirety of your seventh and eighth grade years listening to Live Through This and Celebrity Skin on repeat, the news that Courtney Love will be playing a private show at a fashion party to which you’ve been invited is tantamount to having a senior guy ask you to dance at the middle school mixer. Welcome to last night’s party: One Model Management’s 10 Year Birthday Bash.
A lot of people have called rocker and fashion-lover Courtney Love a lot of things, and, well, thief is one of them. So it didn’t really come as any surprise to us when news broke last night that Love had stolen photographer David LaChapelle‘s car.
Courtney Love really, erm, loves her online marketplaces, doesn’t she? In addition to her eBay store, the prolific Twitter-er is also apparently an avid Etsy user, though she makes guarantee she’ll actually pay for her purchases.
Actors, singers, designers, and models alike attended Tuesday night’s 2nd annual amfAR Inspiration Gala at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City. At the gala, Ke$ha was seen dishing with James Franco and the crowd was treated to performances by Courtney Love and Jennifer Hudson. But as we all know, the highlight of the night happened before the gala even started: the red carpet.
In spite of paying out over $430,000 in a Twitter defamation suit, Courtney Love continues her inexorable takeover of all things online with a newly opened eBay store called (somewhat inaccurately), “Courtney Love Couture”.
Karl Lagerfeld has been known to say some pretty outrageous things. Courtney Love has been known to wear some pretty outrageous outfits. Put the two together, and, well, you know what’s going to happen, don’t you? Unforgettable fashion quotes, that’s what!
This week there was enough John Galliano and Lady Gaga news for a million blog posts, but we also managed to get the dirt on the Oscars, the royal wedding and even Iris Apfel.
Courtney Love has been ordered to pay a $430,000 settlement after designer Dawn Simorangkir accused the singer of defamation via Twitter.
Walking the red carpet is a daunting task for any celebrity — the fear of wardrobe malfunctions, interview snafus, and worst dressed lists loom . But while most sartorial slip-ups eventually fade, a few live on forever. In honor of the upcoming Golden Globes, we’ve put together a list of the all-time worst dressed celebrities to ever attend these tony awards. And while some entries are obvious — ahem, Lara Flynn Boyle — some may surprise you. Who would have thought the words Diane Kruger and Marchesa would go together so terribly.
Looks like buying a Birkin didn’t turn Courtney Love into a better person for too long, because now she’s being sued for tweeting a few not-so-nice things about designer Dawn Simorangkir. And now, every public figure on Twitter might have to be a little more guarded with what they say.
And the Courtney Love press train continues. This time, Love is being sued by “Jeweler to the Stars” Jacob Arabov for not returning almost $114,000 of loaned jewelry.
While perusing her Twitter feed earlier this morning, we couldn’t help but notice that her last 11 tweets were all photos, a mix of Love’s Louboutins, Love half-naked, and Love posed with a nipple-flashing Paz de la Huerta.
In one of the best Sunday Styles profiles (hell, one of the best profiles period) we’ve read in a long time, the Times‘ Eric Wilson tells the compelling story of Courtney Love as fashion icon. (Remember this?) The narrative is entertaining, well-paced and just entirely fascinating. You have to read the whole article to fully appreciate its brilliance, but we’ve picked out the piece’s best fashion moments.
