Chanel’s cruise collection touched down today at a former nutmeg plantation in Singapore. It was a far cry from the over-the-top productions of seasons past — like, for instance, that time the house dropped a colossal globe in the center of the Grand Palais, or that time they staged a show in a castle — but the collection itself was quintessentially Karl. And clearly others were banking on that, too, since guests like Dakota Fanning barely had time to scrub off their Met Gala makeup before hopping off the 18-hour flight to get there in time.
Winona Ryder’s somber style will always hold a place near and dear to our hearts. Who cares if the weather is warming up? This is a woman whose penchant for black knows no season, and we love her for it. Last night, she hit the town in NYC for the opening night of Orphans on Broadway with another red carpet favorite of ours, Dakota Fanning, looking like the coolest girls on the block in spiffy, menswear-inspired ensembles.
Back in 2011, Marc Jacobs caused a bunch of hullaballoo with his Oh, Lola! fragrance ad featuring Dakota Fanning, which was banned in the UK for “sexualizing a child“. Fanning hasn’t said anything about the banned ad — until Glamour‘s March issue.
Most stars are gearing up for the SAG Awards this weekend, but Dakota Fanning, Amanda Seyfried, Emily Blunt, and more stepped out at the Sundance Film Festival and in London. Who was best dressed? You tell us.
Last night, New York celebrated the annual amfAR Inspiration Gala, while California honored Shirley MacLaine with the AFI Life Achievement Award. But who was best dressed?
Hollywood got political last night at the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC. We’ve cast our ballots for best and worst dressed of the evening – how about you?
At last night’s DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer Gala in New York City, the ladies turned it out on the red carpet.
Last night entertainment and fashion folk alike stepped out to celebrate the start of the Tribeca Film Festival at the State Supreme Courthouse in New York City. Vanity Fair threw the fete, which drew an eclectic crowd of actors, designers, models, and…Judge Judy.
Marc Jacobs is reportedly working on a new fragrance that is due to launch this August.
At this weekend’s GLAAD Media Awards, Dakota Fanning was demure in a vintage beaded Halston dress with Manolo Blahnik heels and Fred Leighton jewels. But she surprised the crowd with an unexpected accessory — reading glasses.
Cute hat! But that mouse? Not so much.
Cosmopolitan magazine is still making a different version of its normally raunchy covers specifically for advertisers, to assuage their fears that all they’re supporting is a magazine that publishes another 300,000 ways to please a man every month.
Maybe you can help us decide whether or not we’re OK with this. Dakota Fanning, who is a 17-year-old girl despite how mature and adult she seems in all those movies she’s starred in alongside Oscar winning actors and whatnot, is on the February cover of Cosmopolitan, a magazine best known for giving you new ways to please your man every month.
The Fanning sisters are having a very good February. 13-year-old Elle posed for a sunny pic on the cover of Teen Vogue, while Dakota landed a close-up on ELLE UK.
We want to be a Fanning. Elle and Dakota look stunning on the December cover of W, and they share lots of fashion thoughts with Lynn Hirschberg inside the magazine.
‘Tis the season of sisterly love, apparently. First the Olsens nab the cover (and honor!) of Vogue’s Best Dressed issue, and now W’s December cover has leaked and, guess who’s on the cover? The dynamic teen duo that is Dakota and Elle Fanning.
Marc Jacobs‘ ads have a tendency to make us blush (see: Bang), but we never thought they were racy enough to get banned. As it turns out, the British Advertising Standards Authority disagrees, as they have just shut down an ad for the Jacobs’ fragrance Oh, Lola, featuring teen star Dakota Fanning.
Style icon Chloë Sevigny has lots of interesting things to say, which is why we read practically every interview she does. Her latest, with Bullett, teaches us all about Sevigny’s childhood, her favorite things, and the actress-designer’s feelings toward Snooki.
This was the week of the CFDA Awards — so much fashion, people! There was also a fair amount of fashion at the German state dinner (Michelle Obama, duh). Marc Jacobs‘s ad campaigns were on our mind, as were Kanye West‘s dead model video and Karl Lagerfeld‘s glassware. And, as usual, Kate/Princess Catherine/Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge/whateverhernameis looked stunning.
