Chanel’s cruise collection touched down today at a former nutmeg plantation in Singapore. It was a far cry from the over-the-top productions of seasons past — like, for instance, that time the house dropped a colossal globe in the center of the Grand Palais, or that time they staged a show in a castle — but the collection itself was quintessentially Karl. And clearly others were banking on that, too, since guests like Dakota Fanning barely had time to scrub off their Met Gala makeup before hopping off the 18-hour flight to get there in time.
