This was the week of the CFDA Awards — so much fashion, people! There was also a fair amount of fashion at the German state dinner (Michelle Obama, duh). Marc Jacobs‘s ad campaigns were on our mind, as were Kanye West‘s dead model video and Karl Lagerfeld‘s glassware. And, as usual, Kate/Princess Catherine/Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge/whateverhernameis looked stunning.
The Met Gala exists for pretty much one reason and one reason only: capital-F Fashion. (And don’t let the name Costume Institute confuse you — costume is just an academic term for clothing.) While some of last night’s looks made our jaws drop in a really good way, others were hideous, boring, and/or inappropriate.
If Natalia Vodianova invited us to a slumber party, we would totally attend. Wouldn’t you? Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfeld, and Chloe Moretz sure would.

Come August, magazine racks across the continent will be graced by the face of actress Dakota Fanning. She has landed two covershoots — one for Canadian publication Flare, and the other for US Marie Clare. But while raking up multiple covers in a single month is something to be proud about, it’s the fact that she worked the cameras with her stunning looks that’s making her a winner in our eyes.
