As New Yorkers, we’re pretty unapologetic about the fact that we don’t envy too much about L.A. However, there are two glamorous things we wish called NYC home: Dita Von Teese and the Chateau Marmont. For Rachel Pally’s exclusive Fall 2013 celebration dinner, the Hollywood institution and burlesque queen were brought together and we’re kind of upset we weren’t there to bask in the Old Hollywood glory.
Last night Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall played host to something called the Fragrance Foundation Awards 2013. Our prevailing thought, though, is that you could smell like a foot dipped in melted Limburger cheese and everyone would still want a piece of you if you looked half as good as anyone in attendance.
Last night in New York City, burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese showed off the first-ever 3D printed dress. We can’t decide what’s more amazing: that this technology has been developed, or how Dita looks in it. Take a look and see for yourself!
Last night, stars in both California and Paris closed out the week on an haute note in high fashion wares and fun cocktail frocks. In Los Angeles, ELLE‘s Women in Television celebration brought out small screen stars from series like “Mad Men”, “Revenge”, and “Homeland”, while across the pond, the Sidaction Gala Dinner drew fashion insiders in fresh-off-the-runway ensembles. But whose look gets your vote?
Dita Von Teese owns her signature retro style, and in her newest advice column for XO Jane, she’s teaching everyone to do the same.
Ok, so we’ll kick things off by expressing our disappointment that no one got quite as festive as Allison Williams on the red carpet last night. Where the jingle bells at, amiright? That’s not to say there weren’t some winners out there, though.
Dita Von Teese is launching her first beauty collection this month. Let’s look at some photos!
While celebrities who act are busy prepping for the upcoming SAG awards, celebrities who wear pretty clothes were in Paris at this year’s Sidaction Gala dinner. So, who looked best?
Did you travel this holiday weekend? Did you do it like us (in Converse and a zip-up), or did you do it IN STYLE?
‘Tis the season for LA art museum events! Last weekend the Los Angeles County Museum of Art held its gala, and this weekend it was the Museum of Contemporary Art‘s turn.
Dita Von Teese is known for her glamorous style, but were you aware that her love of all things vintage extended into her taste in cars?
Burlesque performer (and all around fashion superhero) Dita von Teese is set to launch a fragrance — but she guarantees it won’t be anything like other celebrity fragrances on the market.
When we first saw Katy Perry’s June cover for Vanity Fair, we thought she looked gorgeous. A lot like Dita von Teese, but gorgeous nonetheless. Apparently we weren’t the only people to think that, and now some are accusing Perry, the magazine, and cover photographer Annie Liebovitz of ripping off a specific von Teese pose.
Coachella is all about music, obviously, but it’s also all about FASHION. The festival is a veritable celeb playground, crawling with actors and musicians and reality stars all in their weekend-in-the-desert best.
We happen to find perfume explanations hilarious, perhaps because we’re immature or maybe because our scent vocabulary is pretty limited. (Not everyone can be Andre Galletois, okay?) Dita Von Teese has announced via Twitter that she is developing her own fragrance, and her description of the smell is kind of silly!
Dita von Teese is a pretty talented dresser, but let’s face it: no one looks that obscenely and effortlessly perfect without a little bit of help. Von Teese’s already slim waist is often pulled in even further by the skilled hands of Mr. Pearl, an eccentric corset maker responsible for some of the fashion industry’s most famous waist cinchers.
We’re super jealous Hilary Moss over at HuffPost Style got to talk to style icon Dita Von Teese this week. Not surprisingly, the burlesque artist gives a pretty great interview, so we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite quotes. What did we learn from the inimitable Ms. Von Teese?
LA’s AFI FEST ended with a screening of Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis‘s ballet flick, Black Swan. Natalie and Mila battle it out onstage in the psychological thriller that’s gathering major Oscar buzz, but it’s also fun to see how the two have fared on the Black Swan red carpet blitz this fall. This time they were joined by Winona Ryder (who also stars in the movie), Heidi Klum and Dita Von Teese.
Fashion historians could argue for days who the most important woman in our industry is. We’re casting our vote for one Miss Dita Von Teese. Why? Dita Von Teese showed up for the Elie Saab show in Paris wearing a detailed long-sleeved black dress, embellished black heels, a simple watch with a black leather strap, these gorgeous sunglasses and timeless black clutch. And she looked effortlessly amazing.
